SUBLIME AMERICAN DESIGN Inside the high-ceilinged three-story emporium which stocks pieces only by American designers is a well-edited mix of classics like 100 renditions of Richard Neutra’s Boomerang Chair; R.M. Schnindler’s redwood sofa set; and Emeco’s 1006 Navy aluminum chairs. There’s a sense of collaboration and experimentation here too, Julian models the STEWART/STAND block table, a contemporary design by the Brooklyn Design company. Julian and Litvak, who are partners in the advertising firm Looklab, also exhibit works by contemporary artists. It all falls into the category of livable art, say the proprietors, who showcase pieces in nearly every price category, including Flatlinks accessories that sell for less than $100.
